Verifone Release Notes for February-March 2023

Here is an overview of ecommerce, checkout, API, and Verifone Central items released in February and March 2023 in Demo and Production environments. (Note: The green color in the table below marks the live availability of the features listed in the Release Notes in EMEA, US, AU, NZ regions.)

New
Released Shopify plugin. Shopify is an eCommerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems. The plugin allows merchants who are using Shopify to process online transactions through Verifone. The Shopify platform offers online businesses a suite of services including payments, marketing, shipping and customer engagement tools. Read the full documentation here.

Released the Report Scheduler functionality in Verifone Central. The Report Scheduler in Verifone Central enables you to set and generate a transactions report at time intervals scheduled by you. You can set the time and frequency at which the report will be generated, you can apply filters to the transactions included in the report and you can choose who has access to the reports. The generated reports functionality is available in the Generated Reports page in Verifone Central and an e-mail notification is sent to the configured emails with direct link to the report for manual download. The Report Scheduler functionality can be activated on demand.

We now support Swedbank acquiring integration (through Checkout, Virtual Terminal and Pay by Link - in EMEA). Read more in the Supported acquirers page.

Merchants can now view in Verifone Central the types of Invoice4U Payment documents (invoice) that have been generated for a transaction. Read more in the Invoice4U documentation.

Enhanced the integration of mobile SDKs to enable a callback to check if the credit card parameters are correct when a card payment is selected. Read more on mobile SDK here.

Improved Virtual Terminal Invoice4U custom tax settings (Virtual Terminal and Pay by Link) by adding a drop-down to the VAT field and adding a 17% Taxable value instead of the former input field. Read more here and here.

Merchants are now able to submit charge transactions having re-authorization as processing model. Note that the transaction is successfully processed only if the Sign Up Verifone Reference is provided. Read more here and here.

Updated List, Read, and Count transaction API endpoints. Fields like the id of the transaction on which follow-on action is actually performed (parent_id), the status of each individual transaction event (transaction_status) and the type of each transaction event (transaction_type) were added. Unmatched refunds is available now for the merchants that have as acquirers Chase US, First Data and WorldPay US. The design PPC page related to the positioning of the "Allow Unmatched refunds" checkbox was updated as well.

Improved the Virtual Terminal workflow by removing the need to select an Organisation before selecting a PPC. The Organization field is now selected together with the Payment Provider Contract and shows only the PPCs with the relevant sales channels, i.e. MOTO (Mail Order Telephone Order). Read more here.

The AVS (Address Verification Service) Outcome field is displayed now in Transaction Details from the Transaction page of Verifone Central. It is a "human-readable" text that tells what was the outcome of the request of validating the shopper address. Read more here.

Improved the API key expiry email notification sent to merchants by adding information on environment, region data, and a login link. Users who have API keys in different environments (Demo/Production) and across regions (EMEA/US/NZ/AU) will understand easier which integration is affected and will be able to create new API keys effortless. Both ecommerce and Verifone Central support now PreAuth Completion transaction type and allow the same payment actions (VoidCapture and Refund) as Capture transaction type.
